Paul Purdue is what most people would call a nerd. When he walks into a law firm, he looks at how things get done and then tirelessly finds ways to make things more efficient, seamless, and effective. This started as a young child growing up in a family of attorneys when “technology” looked much different than it does now. Today, Paul is a sought after legal technologist at the top of his class. Paul formed Attorney Computer Systems in 1980.
When Paul is not out saving the world from porous infrastructure, he is tinkering in his recording studio, spending time with his wife Barb, playing backgammon on his phone, reading a good book, or otherwise enjoying his empty nest while occasionally inviting his adult children Katie and Spencer over to see how quickly they can get on his nerves.
Mary Jo Boyd
Mary Jo Boyd is the purveyor of all things billing and accounting. Originally starting out as an elementary school secretary in Delta, Ohio, Mary Jo worked at a law firm in Holland, Ohio just prior to coming to work for Attorney Computer Systems in 2007. She serves as a trainer, consultant, and friend to the Attorney Computer Systems clients.
In addition to supporting our family of clients, Mary Jo also has three adult children (Jake, Ben, and Marissa) and 5 grandchildren. She loves to spend time with her husband Matthew, she’s very active in her church, and she is a world class quilter.
Logically speaking, LeAnn is, well, logical. She is our go to person for those tricky bits of logic that find their way into the documents, reports, and workflow that we code for our clients. In another life, she worked at EDS prior to quitting to become a full time mom. With her kids both out of high school, she finds time to help out our clients at Attorney Computer Systems.
LeAnn calls Petersburg, Michigan her home, along with her husband Paul. She has two adult children (Jack and Johannah) who occasionally stop by to raid the refrigerator. If she is not busy cheering on her Michigan State Spartans, you may find her knitting, reading, or golfing.
Sharon loves all things logical. She worked for almost two decades as the Director of Practice Management Systems at the Legal Aid and Defender Association in Detroit. An attorney by trade, she soon found she preferred systems, but mainly those surrounding the practice of law. She graduated from Michigan State and has a Law Degree from Wayne State.
When she’s not being nerdy, she likes to bake cookies and cakes, solve jigsaw puzzles, and take leisurely strolls through nature (she particularly likes to watch trees sway in the wind).
Gwen Crosswhite prepared for her career at Attorney Computer Systems by working for the same attorney from 1981 to 2018! Starting as a legal secretary, she worked her way up to Administrator, so she’s done just about everything there is to do in a law firm (except practice law).
Gwen recently moved to Oklahoma City to be closer to family and enjoys spending time being GiGi (Grandma Gwen) to her granddaughter. She also likes to go antiquing, listening to live music, and reading. Gwen once walked across hot coals…so it really is true…she’ll walk on fire to find a solution for you.
Every successful company has a person who serves as the linchpin of its success. Patty Ault is the integral ingredient inside OUR infrastructure – our “mom”. Patty joined Attorney Computer Systems in 2013 and hasn’t looked back (because if she does, there are children EVERYWHERE)! Patty lives in Petersburg, Michigan with her husband, Tracy, and eight of their ten kids.
When she is not busy being “Super Mom” and selling Avon (www.youravon.com/pault), she enjoys sharing their story of adopting 3 sibling groups (one group of 4 children, one group of 3, and one group of 2) and encouraging others who may be considering foster care or adoption. And when she’s not talking about her kids (all 10 of them), she moves on to Dawson, her grandson. We DID say SuperMom, right?
Since 2009, Tom has been instrumental in helping Attorney Computer Systems expand from just Paul to the company it is today. Recently, he’s taken on the role of Director of Sales and Marketing to help us make sure that lawyers and administrators are talking to JUST the right nerd. You might say he’s a matchmaker with a very special focus.
When he’s not hooking up lawyers with geeks, you’ll find him working out or training for his next marathon. He lives in Florida with his wife Jan and their three kids, Robert, William, and Gwyneth. Tom has an uncanny ability to quote obscure lines from movies and humors himself by working random movie lines into everyday conversation. He blends his obscure movie knowledge with a healthy blend of “dad jokes” to round out his eye-rolling sense of humor.
Corne van Driel
Corne (Pronounced corn AY) is our Senior Developer and query nerd – a position he’s held since 2013. When our clients need dashboards, portals, custom reports or anything else that falls outside the scope of Tabs3, PracticeMaster, or Worldox, Corne is bound to be involved in some way.
Corne enjoys adventure sports when he is not working, actively competing in 4×4 competitions, scuba diving, mountain biking, which recently earned him a new metal elbow, bungee jumping and the occasional obstacle course race.
Since 2013, Brad has served as our Post Production Video Producer. He takes all the raw video, computer, and audio files that we throw at him and produces the sharp, clean, professional content that our clients have come to know and love. Brad is our sparkle, and if there was ever a bunch of nerds that needed sparkle . . . . .
When Brad isn’t doing video production work, he’s either making movies or writing and playing music. Brad has won 8 awards for his independent film work, including a student Emmy for directing his short film “I’d Live For You” (which he also wrote, shot, edited, and scored original music for), and Best Music Video for the 2016 “My Rode Reel” competition.
Since 2016, Kyle has faithfully upheld the duties of Video Producer. Kyle makes sure that Paul and Mary Jo look and sound their best on camera.
When he’s not behind the camera, Kyle likes to watch all sports (but especially hockey and baseball), play the bass guitar in his church band, and did we mention that he is an extreme Star Wars Nerd?
Matthew joined us in 2017 as chief database manager. He makes sure that the right people get invited to the right Virtual User Group meetings and helps us to understand the “who’s who” in our rapidly growing group of clients.
Matthew is an information junkie and (naturally) a Google shareholder. When we want to know the answer to an obscure question (like how may Fritos are in a bag), we turn to Matthew. When he’s not taking care of his father (Papa Boyd), a decorated World War II veteran, or doting over his lovely wife Mary Jo, Matthew is a Senior Olympics Table Tennis Champion and has just retired from 25 years as an NCAA Division 2 Fastpitch Softball Umpire.
